Position Overview:
Join the Precision Technologies team at ISG to support system and hardware engineers in coordinating projects and building hardware for both new and existing products. This role focuses on implementing product updates and supporting prototype development activities.

Engineering Technician
Location: Urbandale, IA
Duration: 12+ months
Position Overview:
Join the Precision Technologies team at ISG to support system and hardware engineers in coordinating projects and building hardware for both new and existing products. This role focuses on implementing product updates and supporting prototype development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret harness schematics to build or modify electrical harnesses.
- Fit and evaluate harnesses and brackets on equipment; provide layout and design recommendations.
- Install and test electronic components on machinery to aid engineering development.
- Document prototype harnesses and brackets through sketches and technical notes.
- Procure components for harnesses, electronics, and brackets to support engineering and prototype needs.
- Maintain and manage inventory of experimental equipment.
Technical Skills Required:
- Proficiency in modifying electrical hardware (controllers, harnesses, mounting equipment).
- Experience with PCB rework (SMT and through-hole), and hand assembly of small PCBs.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams).
- Ability to update and revise mechanical documentation (prints and CAD models).
- Experience with 3D printing.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD (preferred).
- Strong soldering skills (highly desirable).
