Position Title: Release Train Engineer - Senior
Location: Northern Virginia (Quantico-Stafford); Remote possible

Role:
We are seeking a certified Senior Level Release Train Engineer with experience developing, deploying, and maintaining Appian-based IT system solutions. The work supports a multi-year project to sustain and grow a cloud-based information management system for a Department of Defense customer.
Duties:
- Serves as team leader for the Release Management Team (RMT).
- Facilitates Program Increment (PI) Planning, track dependencies, and remove impediments.
- Ensures compliance with Marine Corps standards for Appian BPM and MarkLogic NoSQL platforms.
- Partners with Government stakeholders to prioritize work and deliver mission-ready solutions.
- Driving continuous improvement and providing performance reporting to leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve the culture change needed when successfully transitioning to SAFe-like Agile teams.
- Breadth and depth of experience in the tools and techniques of the SAFe Agile Framework, including a proven track record of continuous improvement in knowledge and implementation of Agile methods.
- Experience guiding program managers using Agile in a large program that includes multiple Agile teams, releases, and projects that operate in parallel (e.g., Scrum of Scrums).
- Knowledge and understanding of how to implement architecture in an Agile environment, how to combine the use of component and feature teams, and how to coordinate multiple teams when managing Agile software development for large-scale enterprise development.
- Understanding of the constraints and demonstrated ability to apply means and methods to overcome these constraints when implementing Agile in a federal contracting environment.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer/Information Systems Engineering, or related field; master's degree preferred.
Certifications:
- SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification required.
- Additional Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, PMI-ACP) strongly preferred.
- ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
Experience Requirements:
- 8 -10 years of IT program or Agile delivery leadership, with 5+ years of experience developing and implementing Appian BPM platform solutions.
- Prior DoD or federal program experience leading Agile Release Trains.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of SAFe Agile practices and tools (Jira, Rally, etc.).
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage dependencies across multiple teams in complex environments.
- Familiarity with Marine Corps or DoD technical data and logistics systems preferred.
