Intended Length of Assignment: 6 months
- Complete Understanding of MySQL s underlying storage engines
- Knowledge of Automated Failover Solutions for MySQL
- Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
- Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases
- Knowledge of TDE (At Rest Encryption)
- MYSQL
- Significant Automation experience with shell and SQL scripting
- Significant Knowledge of MySQL version 8.x and new features
- Strong knowledge of ODBC/JDBC client/server communication
Roles and Responsibilities: The Senior MySQL DBA will have responsibility primarily for MySQL database technologies.
Typical work-related activities include: Install, patch, upgrade, configure, tune, and maintain MySQL databases (versions 8.0.x, 8.4.x migrating to 8.0.42, 8.4.5) Innovate and implement Innodb clustering across multi-data centers Troubleshoot critical performance bottlenecks Review and assess database design changes.
Collaborate with IT teams and vendors Represent database group in projects Monitor, maintain, backup databases Manage database security per policy Review stress testing results Automate tasks and streamline processes Experience with automated installation and patching is a plus Mentor and support team members
Technical Skills (6+ years): Deep understanding of MySQL storage engines Strong knowledge of MySQL 8.x and new features Automated Failover Solutions TDE (At Rest Encryption) MySQL best practices and standards Workarounds for MySQL limitations ODBC/JDBC client/server communication
Shell and SQL scripting automation
Bachelor s in IT-related field Certifications are a big plus
