Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Train Control Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to lead and perform train control and signal engineering design tasks on a variety of complex rail & transit projects; support planning and definition of project goals and devise methods to accomplish them; and develop an in-depth understanding of client objectives, contract terms and corporate policies.

"What You'll Be Doing"
  • Work on large, complex train control/signal projects for Rail & Transit clients in North America.
  • Perform design works for train control/signals, including:
  • Circuit design.
  • Programming of solid-state interlockings.
  • Positive Train Control (PTC) signaling design.
  • Interoperable Electronic Train Management System (I-ETMS).
  • Advanced Civil Speed Enforcement System (ACSES).
  • Interface between Alstom ElectroLogIXS and Integrated Vital Processor Interlocking (iVPI) Control Systems.
  • Proficient with solid-state interface (SSI) programing of ElectroLogIXS, iVPI, and Microlok along with the tools for programming/compiling.
  • Analyze requirements, prepare review comments for disposition of contract deliverables.
  • Lead/perform technical design reviews of wayside and carborne subsystems for train control.
  • Perform oversight and witnessing of factory testing of train control subsystems prior to approval for shipment; log discrepancies and prepare reports for status of system testing.
  • Lead/monitor/perform field implementation and testing activities of wayside and carborne train control systems for a range of rail vehicles and their infrastructure.
  • Assess performance and specification compliance for Signal & Train Control/PTC systems.
  • Coordinate field implementation activities with agency configuration/change control processes for PTC compliance.
  • Interface with the client as the Train Control/Signals Engineer.

"What Required Skills You'll Bring"
  • 5-10+ years of experience with the design/review of train control, signaling, PTC I-ETMS, PTC-ACSES, solid-state and relay-based train control systems.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in the transit industry and/or FRA projects in North America.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree required, preferably Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Communications.
  • Willingness to travel for assignments.
  • Residency in or relocation to Salt Lake City UT or Oakland CA desirable.

"What Desired Skills You'll Bring"
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license desirable

$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
