Job Title: Instructional Designer (Contract)
Location: Remote (Texas-based only) | Occasional on-site meetings in Austin, TX
Duration: 6 months
About the Role
We are seeking a Texas-based Instructional Designer (Contract) to join our Professional Development team within Organizational Development.
This role will support the design and development of engaging learning solutions that enhance leadership capabilities, improve interpersonal skills, and support HR-related training initiatives.
This is a primarily remote opportunity, with occasional travel to Austin, TX, for planning meetings or team collaboration. Candidates must reside in Texas to be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop engaging learning content for instructor-led (virtual/in-person) and asynchronous eLearning experiences.
- Apply instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE) and adult learning principles to create effective training.
- Develop training on professional development topics such as leadership, communication, interviewing, and more.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and internal stakeholders to gather input and refine course content.
- Create supplemental training materials, including facilitator guides, job aids, and multimedia assets.
- Work with learning management systems (preferably Cornerstone) to upload and manage course content.
- Ensure deliverables are SCORM-compliant and aligned with LMS requirements.
- Manage multiple projects while meeting timelines and maintaining high attention to detail.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Instructional Design:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in instructional design (more preferred).
- Expertise in developing both ILT and eLearning content.
- Strong knowledge of instructional methodologies and adult learning theory.
Tools & Technology:
- Proficiency in Articulate, Camtasia, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms (Cornerstone strongly preferred).
- Experience with SCORM standards.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
Content Development:
- Ability to create dynamic, engaging, and accessible multimedia learning content.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with SMEs and project stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
