Position Summary

We're working on innovative foods and formulas that rival healthcare, pharma, human food, and tech companies around the world-foods and formulas that can extend the lives and cognitive function in maturing dogs and cats. We're developing ways to improve the vision of cats and minimize pet allergies through quality nutrition. We were the first ever to extrude dry dog food and we're backed by a lengthy list of patents-a portfolio of industry firsts.

As a Senior Chemist, you'll design, execute, and interpret complex procedures and protocols within a project or goal. Come prepared to do research, execute method development, make process improvements, and draft SOPs in addition to mentoring other team members as you work on procedures and protocols within the lab.

  • Independently or operating in a lead capacity, develop and validate analytical methods in support of projects, and assure project timelines are met
  • Design experiments when requested and handle major portion of project activity with little supervision
  • Troubleshoot assay and instrumentation issues
  • Prepare reports with interpretation and results of complex experiments
  • Follow established methods and procedures to deliver timely results
  • Perform analytical equipment validation and ensure routine calibration and preventive maintenance is performed
  • Assist in development and validation of analytical methods in support of projects
  • Aid in experiments and project assignments

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field
  • 5+ years of analytical lab or industry experience and analytical instrumentation experience
  • 5+ years of experience troubleshooting of assay and equipment issues

Other
  • 2+ years of experience with chromatography and/or mass spectrometry (HPLC, GCMS, LCMS, etc.) is preferred
  • 1+ years of experience working in a Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) or an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory is preferred
  • 1+ years of experience working with Empower software is preferred

The approximate pay range for this position is $69,000.00 to $115,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
