Role: Lead UX Designer
Location: Spring, TX (Onsite Locals Only)
Duration: Long-term Contract

Job Description:
The Upstream division handles high-value decisions using complex technical data. The UX team's goal is to simplify workflows, create intuitive tools, and improve productivity for engineers, scientists, and operators who currently rely on manual/inefficient systems.
This role involves leading UX projects, designing research-backed solutions, and collaborating closely with product & engineering teams within the Oil & Gas domain.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of UX designers & researchers; manage work intake, timelines, planning and stakeholder communication.
• Design user-centered, innovative solutions to simplify complex technical workflows.
• Translate research insights into clear sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and visual interfaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and advocate for UX best practices.
• Support consistent design standards and contribute to the upstream design system.
• Adapt quickly to evolving project priorities and maintain fast delivery cycles.
• Mentor teammates and promote strong design processes.

Top Skills Required

• UX Leadership Team lead experience, stakeholder management, mentoring.
• Strong UX Design Execution Proven history of delivering business value and improving user workflows.
• Domain Experience (Preferred) Oil & Gas, Upstream, or IT Operations.

Candidate Requirements

• Must be local to Houston/Spring/Woodlands.
• Must be willing to work onsite.
• Ability to present portfolio, design process, and problem-solving approach during interviews.
