1. PROJECT MANAGER
Summary:
Provide overall management direction for a large, complex heavy civil or industrial project or
two or more smaller projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads the overall project team in a positive, team-driven, results oriented manner.
Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client to facilitate construction activities
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within
boundaries of corporate policy
Plan, organize, and manage office staff and field supervision.
Own, manage, and update the project schedule.
Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent(s) to
ensure project is built safely, on schedule and within budget.
Represent company in Owner progress meetings.
Manage financial aspects of contracts and responsible for project profit or loss.
Lead project team in daily field coordination meeting, weekly block schedule meeting and
monthly safety kickoff meeting.
Mentor and assist with career development of other team members.
Coordinate with back office Central Engineering Group team to provide support as needed
for the onsite project team.
Actively search for continuous improvements in project planning, processes, and execution.
Perform additional assignments per supervisors direction.
Education and Experience:
Possess a 4-year Bachelors degree in engineering or construction management.
10+ years experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management in a self-
performing general contractor role required.
PE credentialing -not required but is ideal
Skills and Abilities:
MUST HAVE: Experience managing Wastewater or Water Plant projects for heavy industrial/civil
projects.
Must be able to understand and interpret safety laws, company policies/standards, and
collective bargaining agreements.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and other technical drawing and documents.
Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee
performance.
Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and
their impact on project activities.
Must possess superior communication and interpersonal skills.
Business oriented person
Ability to build trust and achieve results through and with others.
Takes ownership of all operations and activities on the project.
Advanced computer skills with the ability to learn and utilize new/different project
management software as dictated by the client.
