Job Details

The Director, Production Plannings overall job is to monitor and manage ongoing production capacity updates, manufacturing plant sourcing, product data management and product change management, inter-site orders, manufacturing plant scheduling oversight, finished goods and raw materials inventory management and supply chain analytics with a goal of providing world class on-time and in-full (OTIF) service levels to client's customers. Oversees the planning, troubleshooting and movement of intersite inventory and subcontractor services supporting client's eight manufacturing sites in the United States to mitigate customer finished goods and/or production raw materials shortages. Supervises three (3) direct reports.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Capacity refreshes monthly and annual capacity models, identifies pinch points and makes recommendations for resolution
  • Stock Model refreshes and troubleshoots SMQ s (safety stock) targets on a monthly and adhoc basis as needed
  • Product Data Management sets up master departments, work centers, routers, items, BOM s and Routes; assigns sourcing rules MAKE, BUY, PURCHASE and updates as changes occur.
  • Product Change Management oversees the initial launch of new production SKU s, changes such as new customer art or manufacturing footprint changes and the SKU conversion phase of same, and product end of life to minimize obsolescence exposure.
  • Planning - leads the planning team by ensuring all direct reports are properly trained and performing according to the department's mandate. Scope of planning team work includes inter-site order creation, monitoring and troubleshooting fulfillment challenges; master file maintenance; product change management.
  • Provides indirect support to plant planners regarding production scheduling prioritization or other improvement opportunities;
  • Interfaces extensively with Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Procurement, Logistics, Customer Care and planners and warehouse teams at client's eight manufacturing plants.
  • Oversees year end Physical Inventory process.

  • ERP Planning Skills (product data management, MPS, MRP, Capacity, Inventory, Order Management)
  • Understanding of product cost, Operations & Supply Chain KPI S
  • Advanced Level Excel
  • High level of attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Ability to train and mentor.
  • Computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher amongst others
  • Above-average time management skills are necessary
  • Ability to make decisions on the go in liaison with the relevant stakeholders
  • A high level of written communication skills is mandatory
  • Conflict management skills are a mandatory requirement

Qualifications:

  • ASCM certification or Supply Chain degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role is requirement.

Salary: $105,000- $115,000 per year ( depends on experience level)
