Job Details

The Cloud Architect Lead/Manager is responsible for, and the primary force behind, realizing the operational benefits of Cloud Infrastructure for Astadia and our clients. The Cloud Architect Manager leads and evaluates the Cloud Architect team. The team is responsible for cloud architectural choices across all Hyper scale providers. Providing a service vision, problem anticipation, and the ability to solve problems. Additionally, the Cloud Architect Lead/Manager is familiar with concepts, best practices, and managing high performance engineering teams. The Cloud Architect Lead/Manager relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish team goals while performing tasks and duties of a team manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct experience successfully delivering projects on two or more of the following cloud environments:
    • Google
    • AWS
    • IBM
    • Azure
    • RedHat
  • Experience with containers, container registries, Kubernetes and the cloud provider services that enable these technologies.
  • Integration of common enterprise services with client infrastructure both in cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Ability to capture requirements, form the requirements into deliverables, and then depict and explain both High and Low Level (HLD/LLD) designs.
  • Assess or produce Infrastructure as Code with common languages. (I.E.) Ansible, Puppet, CloudFormation, Terraform, Bicep.
  • Provide clients with training and leadership around Source Code Management, Infrastructure as Code, Cloud Services, and Security.
  • Interface with cloud systems engineers, solutions architects, and directors at either Microsoft or AWS during projects, and can represent Astadia s knowledge and best practices.
  • Interface with client cloud engineering groups, follow client best practices and guidelines.
  • Champion Astadia cloud architectures for Astadia and our clients.
  • This position may participate in technical initiatives related to the design, implementation, monitoring, problem resolution, disaster planning and overall maintenance of cloud systems.
  • Interface with representatives of client business units, and technology groups to define requirements and processes needed to provision cloud services.
  • Develop and maintain the architecture roadmap for the data and security of systems based on service development and demand to support existing and evolving system services.
  • Help evaluate and select systems hardware, software, and services to fulfill various businesses needs as requirements develop.
  • Perform cloud management functions/troubleshooting/capacity planning/performance monitoring utilizing various cloud service management/analysis tools.
  • Provide technical support, operations and problem resolution of cloud infrastructure as required, including any client specific on-call support during the project life cycle.
  • Provide support and implementation planning for business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Provided technical guidance and knowledge transfer to peers and support personnel.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Ability to manage staff to achieve group and business objectives.
  • Ability to coordinate staff to respond, troubleshoot and resolve both cloud and system infrastructure problems in a methodical and effective manner.
  • Establish trusted relationships with staff, coworkers, and management.
  • Timely completion of tasks.
  • Candidate must have a good grasp of cloud trends and the mission of the group to provide the most cost effective and efficient systems and maintenance.
  • Strong architecture background to develop both high-level and low-level designs and capturing/documenting client requirements.
  • Ability to document designs, implementations detail.
  • 2+ years experience on high availability systems infrastructure design, implementation, and support.
  • 5+ years experience in cloud technologies, IoC delivery, and support.
  • Bachelor's Degree, in STEM (Master's Degree preferred)
  • Verifiable management experience.
  • Current Cloud Certifications are expected.
