Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager Level 3 to lead field and project execution activities for large-scale infrastructure projects. This role is critical to project success at the field level and serves as the key liaison between field operations and the Project Manager. The position requires approximately 70% office-based work and 30% field presence.

The Construction Manager will act as the quarterback of the project in the field, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and accurate reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Pre-Construction Responsibilities

  • Review and fully understand all contract documents and project requirements

  • Review and enforce contractor Safety Plans; coordinate with Safety teams to resolve gaps

  • Lead contractor kickoff meetings and establish project expectations

  • Participate in site-specific safety orientations

  • Review permits, road use agreements, crossing agreements, SWPPP, haul routes, drawings, materials, schedules, QA/QC plans, and submittals

  • Set expectations, lead, train, and manage the project field team

  • Complete safety assessments, CILs, QA/QC documentation, and site reporting using Unifier

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, site photos, and weekly reports to the Project Manager

Construction Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with contractors

  • Actively manage site safety, quality, and compliance

  • Ensure adherence to project specifications, drawings, and quality standards

  • Monitor and track project schedules (C1 and contractor Primavera P6)

  • Track daily progress and approve CSU updates using project tracking tools

  • Monitor environmental compliance and SWPPP requirements

  • Coordinate outages, crossings, and critical work activities

  • Ensure zero injuries, quality execution, and on-time delivery

Reporting Responsibilities

  • Collect and validate all project data independently (do not rely solely on contractor data)

  • Ensure reports and trackers are 100% accurate and executive-level ready

  • Manage field teams to gather accurate schedule, cost, and progress data

  • Provide complete documentation to support change orders and dispute resolution

  • Communicate proactively with Project Managers regarding issues and risks

  • Submit weekly reports and trackers by Friday, 5:00 PM project time

Managing Additional Resources

  • Environmental Team: Coordinate audits, compliance checks, and environmental guidance

  • ISC / Expeditor: Manage material delivery schedules and resolve supply issues

  • Safety Team: Leverage safety expertise, conduct CILs, and enforce safety compliance

  • SMEs (Subject Matter Experts): Engage civil, structural, electrical, and construction experts as needed

  • Land Agents: Coordinate land access, agreements, and landowner issues through proper channels

All third-party communications with contractors must be directed through the Construction Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager on large infrastructure or energy projects

  • Strong knowledge of construction safety, QA/QC, scheduling, and field execution

  • Experience with Primavera P6, Unifier, and project tracking tools

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong documentation and reporting discipline
