Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a motivated and experienced Data Scientist to join our growing Water business in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in program and construction management data analysis, particularly those who are data-driven and have experience in wastewater, utilities, operations support, or asset management.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze large datasets to derive actionable insights.
  • Use statistical methods to interpret data and generate useful business reports.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data.
  • Extracting and loading data.
  • Knowledge of database design and theories.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through validation and cleaning processes.
  • Collaborate with the Controls team and other teams to resolve data-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive and visually appealing reports and dashboards.
  • Communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Power BI Paginated Reports).
  • Experience working with large and complex data models.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Experience with API calls and management (e.g., REST, Jupyter).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time, organize, and set priorities and make timely decisions.
  • Experience with Middleware tools (e.g., Boomi) is preferred.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Industry-specific knowledge and experience (e.g., Architecture, Engineering, Construction) is preferred.
  • Previous experience in project controls would be considered an asset.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

About the Team

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
