Job Description:

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced CMDB Architect with expertise in IT Asset Management (ITAM), ServiceNow, and Service Mapping to design, implement, and optimize our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) ecosystem. You will ensure accurate configuration data, integrate asset lifecycle management, and map critical service dependencies to enhance operational resilience. If you excel at aligning CMDB strategies with service visibility and thrive in collaborative environments, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

CMDB: Architect and deploy scalable CMDB solutions with integrated service mapping to visualize service dependencies and relationships and also ensuring alignment with organizational policies and seamless integration with and IT Asset Management (ITAM) processes.

ServiceNow Expertise: Configure and maintain ServiceNow CMDB, Service Mapping modules, Discovery, and IT Asset Management (ITAM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM) workflows.

Service Dependency Mapping: Develop dynamic service maps to model relationships between CIs, applications, and business services, ensuring alignment with ITIL processes.

Asset Management Integration: Collaborate with ITAM teams to map asset lifecycle data (hardware, software, cloud) into the CMDB, linking assets to service dependencies.

Tool Integration: Configure integrations between ServiceNow CMDB/Service Mapping and ITSM, monitoring systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and SaaS applications.

Data Integrity & Automation: Use ServiceNow Discovery and automation tools (API s) to ensure accuracy of CMDB/Asset data and service maps.

Governance: Establish policies for CMDB/service mapping accuracy, including access controls, data stewardship, and compliance with ITIL standards.

Best Practices: Advise on CMDB/ITAM strategies and process improvements to optimize ROI.

Reporting: Monitor CMDB Health, Generate Dashboards/Reports, and provide insights for asset utilization, cost optimizations and risk mitigation.

Incident & Change Impact Analysis: Leverage service maps to assess risks during changes and troubleshoot incidents efficiently.

Documentation & Training: Create guides for service mapping processes and train teams on leveraging CMDB/service maps for operational efficiency.

Innovation: Stay updates on AI/ML-driven analytics, automation and cloud-native solutions to enhance service mapping and CMDB capabilities.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Technology Operations, DevOps, Procurement, Governance, Risk and Compliance and Cybersecurity to define CMDB/ITAM requirements, governance, policies and data ownership.

Qualifications:

- Experience: 5+ years in CMDB architecture, IT Asset Management (ITAM), and ServiceNow CMDB/Service Mapping implementations.

Technical Skills:

- Expertise in ServiceNow CMDB, Service Mapping, Discovery, and ITAM modules.

- Proficiency in designing service maps and dependency models for complex IT environments.

- Proficiency in data modelling, MS Excel and database management.

- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and automation tools.

- Familiarity with ITAM tools and software license compliance.

Certifications:

- ITIL v3/v4 Foundation (required).

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, CMDB Specialist, Service Mapping Micro-Certification, or ITAM and ITOM (strongly preferred).

Soft Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Master s preferred).
