Position Description:

PROLIM is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Grants Management System (NexSys). This system manages over 100+ grant applications, facilitating more than $2 billion in payments to educational entities across the state.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key role in the software development lifecycle, managing work requests, gathering requirements, and serving as the liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders. This is a leadership role, requiring delegation, effective communication, and the ability to guide a team of business analysts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate meetings between technical teams and business clients.
  • Gather and document business requirements by leading requirement sessions.
  • Maintain backlog of work items in Azure DevOps.
  • Operate in a hybrid (Agile/Waterfall) environment, managing requirements, change requests, and testing needs.
  • Track sprints and ticket progress in Azure DevOps.
  • Ensure compliance with change management policies.
  • Serve as a liaison with State of Michigan auditors.
  • Maintain project documentation on SharePoint.
  • Provide project status reports and resource demand projections.
  • Continuously improve processes in collaboration with teams and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting software development projects.
  • Strong exposure to complex IT web applications (within the last 5 years).
  • Expertise in gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Experience as a liaison between development teams and business clients.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (User Stories, queries, backlog management).
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to lead meetings, training sessions, and presentations with stakeholders.

Highly Desired Skills:

  • Experience with wireframing/mockups (Figma or similar tools).
  • Project management skills and familiarity with Agile/Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint for documentation management.
  • Knowledge of Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate).
