Job Description

Torch Technologies is looking for an Aerospace Engineer 6 who will support the Army program office as an aeronautical engineer providing subject matter expertise on air vehicle parameters to include: performance parameters (i.e. speed, range, fuel efficiency, etc.), handling qualities, mass properties, service life, and drive systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Support system specification development and requirements analysis activities.
  • Conduct Technology Readiness Assessments.
  • Analyzes highly complex aerospace product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs, which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods or may develop methods to be used.
  • Conduct/reviews system-level trade studies and analyses to support development of requirements.
  • Evaluates new technologies for application in improving design of highly complex aerospace systems.
  • Provide technical risk assessments and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support Mission Equipment integration activities.
  • Plans, coordinates, directs, and evaluates testing of highly complex aerospace systems
  • Support system qualification planning and execution.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 12 years related aerospace engineering experience.
  • Active secret security clearance.
  • Experience in rotorcraft acquisition with a focus in development activities.
  • Experience in requirements development and verification.
  • Experience with early acquisition programs.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition processes.

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours.

Security Clearance: Secret

Schedule: M-F; 40 hours/week

Work Location: Huntsville, AL
