Summary
This role is 100% remote within the US. Must be authorized to work in US.
We are seeking a Mobile Solutions Engineer specializing in HID s Mobile Access (MA) solutions. This dual specialist role will work exclusively with HID Mobile Access solution deployments, combining Cloud-based SaaS solution design with traditional Physical Access Control Systems (PACS). This role partners with Sales to position, sell, and support HID solutions that leverage BLE, NFC, and emerging mobile technologies, while also offering PACS expertise when required.
The ideal candidate is a technical translator and trusted advisor: capable of handling product demonstrations, solving customer challenges, and architecting high-level solutions that bridge IT, cloud, mobile, and physical security. Extensive PACS knowledge is considered a strong plus but not a sole requirement. The ideal candidate will be able to excel at making complex solutions and multi-step processes easy to understand and execute.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work with Sales during the sales cycle to qualify, position, and demonstrate how HID Mobile Access implementations help customers exceed business requirements.
- Serve as subject matter expert in customer workshops, addressing technical objections and guiding solution design.
- Translate technical concepts into clear value for non-technical stakeholders.
- Lead in-depth technical discussions with clients, partners, and internal teams.
- Provide field feedback to Product Management and Engineering for roadmap development.
- Represent HID Global at trade shows, partner summits, and customer-facing events.
- Deliver compelling product demonstrations and technical presentations.
- Train partners and end users on HID Mobile Access technologies; provide guidance on PACS solutions and protocols (OSDP, RS-485, Wiegand, AES, ISO, etc.) as needed.
- Support integration discussions covering APIs, IAM frameworks, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Provide training support to all personas involved in the process of selecting, installing, and configuring HID PACS products

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree or 2 years of Technical Support or Engineering experience highly preferred.
- Minimum 3 years in IT, Security, or Presales roles.
Preferred Experience
- Prior exposure to PACS technologies such as RFID and associated hardware.
- Strong experience in IT Security, Networking, Mobile Applications, and SaaS/Cloud platforms.
- Training experience
Language Skills
Ability to communicate fluently and professionally in English, both in writing and verbally, including the capacity to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Familiar with integration methods (RESTful APIs, SDKs).
- Understanding of Identity & Access Management (IAM) including LDAP, SAML, OAuth, OIDC.
- Knowledge of mobile and wireless protocols: BLE, NFC, UWB, LTE/5G.
- Awareness of cryptography (AES, RSA, ECC), PKI, and logical access solutions (FIDO2/WebAuthn).
- Network protocols: SSL/TLS, VPN, RADIUS, SFTP.
- Network security (firewalls, DMZ, VPN).
- Familiarity with end-to-end PACS components and protocols a strong plus.

- Employee works primarily in a home office environment.
- The home office must be a well-defined work area, separate from normal domestic activity and complete with all essential technology including, but not limited to; separate phone, scanner, printer, computer, etc. as required in order to effectively perform their duties.
Work Requirements
- Compliance to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems.
- Travel and fieldwork, including international travel may be required. Therefore, employee must possess or be able to acquire a valid passport.
