Job Role: Microsoft Security Subject Matter Expert

Location: Remote

Contract

Key Responsibilities
Lead the integration and operationalization of Microsoft Security tools across enterprise cloud and hybrid environments
Provide deep technical subject matter expertise in:
o Microsoft Entra ID and Conditional Access Policies
o Microsoft Defender for Cloud (CSPM, CWP, DevSecOps integration)
o Microsoft Defender Suite, including:
Defender for Endpoint
Defender for Cloud Apps
Defender for Identity
Defender for Office 365 (focus on email protection)
o Microsoft Purview (Information Protection & Compliance)
o Microsoft Sentinel (configuration and tuning nice to have)
o Microsoft Intune (endpoint management and security policy enforcement)
Collaborate with internal and client teams to design, implement, and document secure configurations and remediation plans
Deliver client-facing sessions including technical workshops, whiteboarding, and remediation planning
Stay current on Microsoft product updates, roadmaps, and security best practices
Align implementations with organizational security goals and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001)
Required Skills and Experience
Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft cloud security technologies: Entra ID, Defender for Cloud, XDR, and Purview
Strong understanding and practical experience with Conditional Access Policies (required)
Hands-on experience implementing and managing Microsoft Defender security solutions at the enterprise level
Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel use case development and tuning (preferred)
Experience conducting workshops with both executive and technical stakeholders (remote and in-person)
Proven ability to produce technical documentation and security architecture guidance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
Comfortable working in large, multi-disciplinary managed services teams
Preferred Certifications
AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
AZ-500: Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate
AZ-305: Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Additional Microsoft security/compliance certifications (e.g., SC-100, SC-200, SC-300) are a plus
