Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager who will support our client. This role will be responsible for assisting with the enhancements and improvements to California's Medicaid Program (Medi-Cal). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the regulations set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), including the MITA Framework compliance with federal laws, healthcare regulations, and other standards.

Duties:

  • Lead large-scale IT project related the enhancement and improvement of the Medi-Cal system

  • Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, MITA framework, and federal healthcare laws and regulations.

  • Navigate the State of California's specific processes and procedures for IT initiatives

  • Manage stakeholder relationships between state agencies and federal partners

  • Oversee project teams and coordinate cross-functional communications

  • Develop and maintain project plans, scheduled, budgets, and risk management strategies

  • Report on project status to executive leadership and stakeholders

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (copy of diploma required)

  • 7+ years' experience of broad, extensive, and increasingly responsible experience applying project management (PM) principles, methods, techniques, and tools.

  • 4+ years' experience in a Senior PM role for one or more large or complex IT projects.

  • 1+ year of experience working with the State of California processes/procedures.

  • A valid Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from Project Management Institute (PMI) (need copy of cert).

  • Strong Project Leadership experience within a state agency environment.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Medicaid and/or healthcare experience preferred
