Job Description:
  • The Laboratory Instrumentation Specialist is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and coordinating the upkeep of various analytical instruments in a regulated laboratory environment.
  • This role requires hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, and other laboratory systems, ensuring compliance with GLP standards and safety procedures.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage routine maintenance for instruments including LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, electronic/mechanical pipettes, sample grinders, evaporators, and related systems.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for instrument repair, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Assist with major LC-MS/MS software upgrade initiatives tied to Windows 11 compliance, including scheduling, upgrading, and validation of instruments.
  • Order laboratory supplies required for method development and maintain associated equipment.
  • Perform routine lab support tasks according to protocols, including:

    Equipment maintenance and validation
  • Instrument cleaning and performance verification
  • Computer systems validation
  • LC-MS/MS batch setup and execution
  • Mobile phase preparations
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with GLP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare standard solutions and maintain catalog and documentation of chemical standards.

Requirement / Must Have:
  • Associate Degree in a science-related field required; Bachelor s preferred.
  • General knowledge of mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, and associated software.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical instruments and laboratory maintenance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated, and time-sensitive environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with quantitative weighings and solution preparations for analytical techniques.
  • Quantitative LC-MS/MS experience in small molecules.
  • Understanding of GLP regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with diverse teams, including R&D, regulatory, and residue experts.
