AEM Tech Lead
Redmond, WA (Hybrid)

Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and driven AEM Tech Lead to oversee technical delivery in large-scale Adobe Experience Manager projects. In this hands-on leadership role, you will guide an 8 12 member development team, ensuring high-quality deliverables and architectural alignment. You will be responsible for translating solution architecture into detailed design and actionable implementation guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical design, development, and delivery for AEM-based solutions
- Provide architectural direction and unblock the team during delivery
- Break down high-level designs into detailed technical specifications
- Define and enforce best practices, including secure coding and performance tuning
- Drive the development of automated unit tests and maintain CI/CD hygiene
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to align on backlog and priorities
- Build and review code to ensure quality and adherence to standards
- Support estimation, planning, and performance benchmarking
- Optimize components and services for performance and scalability
- Facilitate content migration strategies (including automation)
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including:
- 3+ years in AEM as Developer/Lead on AEM 6.5+
- At least 2 end-to-end AEM project implementations
- Proficient in developing AEM components (HTL/Sightly, JSP), templates, OSGi bundles, servlets
- Must a hands-on person who can play an Technical Architect role also
- Strong understanding of AEM workflows, user permissions, internationalization (i18n), and MSM
- Experience integrating REST/SOAP APIs into AEM
- Skilled in designing for and meeting Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs)
Preferred Skills
- AEM Lead Developer or Architect Certification
- Familiarity with Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, and Launch
- Experience in Agile environments (Scrum or SAFe)
- Exposure to AEM commerce integrations in both headless and traditional models
- API development experience is a strong plus
- Personalization and segmentation strategy experience is advantageous
