AEM Tech Lead

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and driven AEM Tech Lead to oversee technical delivery in large-scale Adobe Experience Manager projects. In this hands-on leadership role, you will guide an 8 12 member development team, ensuring high-quality deliverables and architectural alignment. You will be responsible for translating solution architecture into detailed design and actionable implementation guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical design, development, and delivery for AEM-based solutions
  • Provide architectural direction and unblock the team during delivery
  • Break down high-level designs into detailed technical specifications
  • Define and enforce best practices, including secure coding and performance tuning
  • Drive the development of automated unit tests and maintain CI/CD hygiene
  • Collaborate with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to align on backlog and priorities
  • Build and review code to ensure quality and adherence to standards
  • Support estimation, planning, and performance benchmarking
  • Optimize components and services for performance and scalability
  • Facilitate content migration strategies (including automation)

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including:
    • 3+ years in AEM as Developer/Lead on AEM 6.5+
    • At least 2 end-to-end AEM project implementations
  • Proficient in developing AEM components (HTL/Sightly, JSP), templates, OSGi bundles, servlets
  • Must a hands-on person who can play an Technical Architect role also
  • Strong understanding of AEM workflows, user permissions, internationalization (i18n), and MSM
  • Experience integrating REST/SOAP APIs into AEM
  • Skilled in designing for and meeting Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs)

Preferred Skills

  • AEM Lead Developer or Architect Certification
  • Familiarity with Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, and Launch
  • Experience in Agile environments (Scrum or SAFe)
  • Exposure to AEM commerce integrations in both headless and traditional models
  • API development experience is a strong plus
  • Personalization and segmentation strategy experience is advantageous
