Title: Senior Risk Advisory Consultant (2 Roles Available)
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid Thursdays onsite, likely moving to 2 days/week onsite in August)

About the Opportunity
We re working with a fast-growing advisory firm that s expanding its Risk Advisory team supporting global financial institutions. We re hiring two talented professionals who are eager to contribute to internal control enhancements, risk assessment initiatives, and regulatory readiness projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with Tier-1 banking clients and gain exposure to high-impact initiatives in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.
Work Setup
Hybrid Schedule: Remote work Monday Wednesday and Friday
In-Person Requirement: Every Thursday in downtown Toronto
Upcoming Shift: Second weekly onsite day expected starting August
Role Variants
We are hiring for two distinct functional profiles under this umbrella role:
Profile A Internal Controls & Compliance Focus
Hands-on experience conducting control design reviews, testing, and process walkthroughs
Familiarity with North American banking regulations, particularly:
OSFI (Canada)
OCC and Federal Reserve standards (U.S.)
Profile B Reporting & Data Visualization Focus
Strong command of Excel for complex data manipulation
Proven ability to build interactive dashboards and reports from scratch using:
Power BI
Tableau
Comfortable translating messy data into business-ready insights
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Perform detailed assessments of operational processes and control environments
Participate in walk-throughs and interviews with client stakeholders
Design testing procedures and execute control effectiveness reviews
Analyze risk exposure and help develop practical mitigation strategies
Review and document both manual and automated control structures
Evaluate reporting tools, data flows, and information integrity
Create clear deliverables: process flows, test scripts, reports, and risk matrices
Monitor project timelines and contribute to status updates and budget estimates
Participate in regulatory readiness engagements and provide audit support
Your Background
Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or similar
4+ years of experience in risk consulting, internal audit, regulatory compliance, or banking controls
Strong writing and communication skills able to interface with clients at various levels
For Profile B: Must be highly skilled in Power BI, Tableau, and advanced Excel functions
For Profile A: Deep understanding of banking compliance and regulatory control environments
Ability to work independently, juggle priorities, and mentor junior resources
Occasional travel may be required based on client engagement needs
