Network Security Engineer

Typical Day in the Role

• Meet with the team to collaborate and warm on efforts of automation.
• Write scripting code within Python and working with firewalls daily. The contractor will contribute to the development and refinement of solutions to support daily operations and improve our firewall monitoring.

• Performance involves working with the team towards team success.
• This position is different than most network security engineers because it involves the coding and automation side of network security.
• Ideal candidate will play a key role in driving innovation and efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

• Required: Bachelors :
• Years of experience required: A minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands on experience with Python or similar language with a strong understanding of how automation can be applied within the environment. Candidates also need 2 to 3 years experience working with firewalls in a professional setting, preferably with Check Point
• Disqualifiers: Lacking hands on scripting experience, limited firewall exposure, no python or similar language experience
• Additional qualities to look for: Problem solver/can troubleshoot and offer scalable solutions, comfortable working in cross-functional teams and Agile environments

• 1 Python or similar language
• 2 Check Point experience or similar
