We are seeking a skilled Snowflake Administrator to lead the setup, administration, and operational excellence of our Snowflake Data Cloud environment. This role will focus on laying a strong foundation for Snowflake usage, enabling seamless data onboarding, and implementing robust monitoring and performance optimization practices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Snowflake architecture and a deep understanding of enterprise data platform operations and governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Snowflake Environment Setup & Administration
Design, implement, and manage core Snowflake components including virtual warehouses, databases, schemas, and roles.
Enforce RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), manage user provisioning, and implement data security standards.
Establish naming conventions, object tagging, and organizational best practices for scalable platform growth.
Data Onboarding & Integration
Collaborate with data engineering teams and source system owners to onboard data from various sources (cloud storage, databases, APIs, etc.).
Ensure ETL/ELT pipelines are optimized for performance, governance, and scalability.
Develop and maintain data ingestion templates, standards, and documentation.
Monitoring, Performance & Optimization
Configure and maintain monitoring tools and dashboards (e.g., Snowflake Resource Monitors, CloudWatch, Grafana).
Analyze performance metrics to optimize compute usage and manage cost efficiency.
Implement alerts, anomaly detection, and support SLAs for data and system health.
Drive platform maturity via automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
