Job Details

About the Role:

The IaaS Administrator will be responsible for managing and supporting the virtualized infrastructure within a Private Cloud environment. This role will involve the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of VMware vSphere, vRealize Suite, and associated virtualization technologies to ensure the seamless operation of our IaaS offerings. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with vSphere, vRealize Automation (vRA), vRealize Operations (vROps), and related VMware technologies, providing tactical support for resource allocation, automation, and migration activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Management & Support

Administer and support the VMware vSphere and vRealize environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.

Configure and maintain vSAN, NSX/AVI, vRealize Automation (vRA), Site Recovery Manager, and vSphere Replication.

Manage and monitor virtual networking, storage, and compute resource integration.

Ensure compliance with best practices and security policies for virtualization environments.

Automation & Optimization

Develop and implement automation scripts and workflows for VM provisioning, resource scaling, and configuration management.

Enable autoscaling capabilities, including power on/off automation based on utilization.

Maintain monitoring and logging solutions for performance metrics and resource utilization.

Provide dashboards and reporting solutions to visualize historical data and trends.

Migration & Deployment

Support migration activities from brownfield to greenfield environments, ensuring seamless transitions.

Provide technical guidance on the deployment of VSAN Ready nodes for smaller sites.

Conduct performance and validation testing post-migration.

Document deployment configurations and migration processes.

Operations & Self-Service Capabilities

Implement and maintain self-service capabilities for end users to manage resources independently.

Provide documentation and training on self-service portal features.

Ensure availability and accessibility of real-time monitoring and logging data.

Integration & Compliance

Integrate base images from third-party vendors (e.g., Red Hat, Microsoft) while ensuring compliance with security standards.

Work with CI/CD pipelines for automated provisioning and patching.

Maintain compliance dashboards and reporting for audits and governance.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology.
