Job Summary

The Control Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of control systems for industrial cooling applications. This role focuses on optimizing and integrating control strategies to maintain stable, efficient, and reliable cooling performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in control systems engineering and experience with automation technologies.


Key Responsibilities

Control System Design & Integration

  • Develop control system architectures and implement control strategies for cooling equipment.

  • Design and program algorithms to adjust cooling capacity dynamically based on real-time parameters (e.g., temperature, humidity, and system load).

  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, control diagrams, and process flow documentation for data center cooling systems.

Programming & Commissioning

  • Program and configure PLCs, develop HMI/SCADA interfaces, and tailor them to data center cooling applications.

  • Commission, test, and validate control systems to ensure efficient startup and stable performance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve control-related issues to maintain reliable system operation.

Collaboration & Project Management

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cooling solutions meet technical and performance specifications.

  • Participate in design reviews, providing expertise on control system challenges and optimization opportunities.

  • Support project planning, scheduling, and budgeting for new installations and system retrofits.

Maintenance & Documentation

  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for control designs, programming modifications, and maintenance activities.

  • Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for operational cooling systems.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all control systems adhere to relevant industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., UL, CE).


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Advanced degrees or professional certifications in HVAC, refrigeration, or automation are preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in control system design, programming, and maintenance.

  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and sensor network integration.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of control systems, automation, and cooling system fundamentals (thermal management, airflow, load balancing).

  • Proficient in interpreting and creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control logic documentation.

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to work on-site and travel as needed for system installation, commissioning, and maintenance.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
