Operating Engineer

What this job involves:

Join our healthcare facilities team as an Operating Engineer where you'll be responsible for the critical electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems that keep our healthcare facility running smoothly. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors while ensuring all building systems operate at peak efficiency. You'll play a vital part in supporting JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional facility management services in the healthcare sector.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Monitor and maintain critical building systems including HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, emergency backup systems, boilers, and hot water systems

Perform preventive maintenance on all base building equipment with minimal disruption to healthcare operations

Install and repair electrical controls, plumbing systems, and mechanical equipment including motors, pumps, and air compressors

Conduct routine assessments, tests, and data analysis to ensure proper functioning of all departmental equipment

Maintain accurate logs, complete work orders, and provide timely communication with Operations Manager and Lead Engineer

Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, local codes, and infection control procedures in healthcare settings

Complete specialized tasks including medical equipment repair under specific infection control conditions

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent plus minimum 2 years of trade school or college education

Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical trade, HVAC/refrigeration, or emergency backup systems

Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes

Ability to lift 60 lbs repeatedly and climb ladders up to 40 feet

Strong communication skills (oral and written) and computer proficiency

Ability to work in healthcare environment with infection control protocols

Team player with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional certifications in electrical, HVAC, or mechanical systems

Previous healthcare facility experience

Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Experience with building automation systems

Painting and carpentry skills

Familiarity with medical equipment maintenance

Location: West Covina, CA.

Work Shift: 7AM to 3:30 / 8AM to 4:30PM Monday to Friday.

Salary/Comp: $56,000 to $60,000

Estimated compensation for this position:

56,000.00 - 60,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
