The Director of Marketing Communications drives Landstar's brand strategy to enhance market presence and reputation. By aligning go-to-market initiatives with business unit goals, this role ensures a consistent brand voice, streamlines communication tools, and maximizes the value of marketing investments, positively impacting growth, efficiency, and brand equity.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Director of Marketing Communications drives Landstar's brand strategy to enhance market presence and reputation. By aligning go-to-market initiatives with business unit goals, this role ensures a consistent brand voice, streamlines communication tools, and maximizes the value of marketing investments, positively impacting growth, efficiency, and brand equity.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Brand Strategy Execution: Lead the development and execution of Landstar's brand strategy, ensuring alignment with go-to-market initiatives to fulfill the company's brand promise.
- Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key business units, driving continuous refinement and communication of value propositions.
- Reputation Management: Oversee initiatives to improve and elevate Landstar's brand reputation, ensuring a positive public perception and brand image.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and inspire cross-functional teams to establish a unified and consistent voice for Landstar, ensuring alignment across all communication channels.
- Communication Tools and Innovation: Evaluate, recommend, and implement communication tools and applications to enhance organizational consistency and efficiency in messaging.
- Operational Efficiency: Drive cost-reduction initiatives and identify opportunities to increase the value derived from existing products and services.
- Business Alignment: Collaborate with senior leadership to align communication strategies with overall business goals and objectives.
- Team Leadership: Oversee the marketing communication team, ensuring effective execution of strategies and initiatives in line with company goals.
- Project Management: Establish and enforce project management best practices, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of marketing projects.
- Talent Development: Mentor, develop, and inspire team members to meet and exceed Landstar's high standards of excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 10 years B2B experience, in marketing communications
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master's in Marketing, etc.).
- 10 years of experience of experience at the Director level or above
- 2 years of experience managing remote teams.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong understanding of brand strategy and reputation management.
- Knowledge of brand framework and aligning marketing with corporate and sales strategies.
- Proficiency in project management and process improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent cross-functional leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
