Systems Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has an enterprise client seeking a Systems Engineer in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities:
* On-call support to monitor and troubleshoot ETL pipelines and Neo4J EC2 Instances
* Identify and root cause failures, troubleshoot failures and deploy fixes
* Monitor performance benchmarks and tweak parameters as needed to optimize customer experience
* Address on call tickets at various severity levels in resolving issues related to ETL failures and infrastructure related issues
* Document incidents and resolutions
* Dive deep to resolve problems at their root, looking for failure patterns amenable to long-term solutions via simplification and automation

REQUIREMENTS:
* 2-5 years of experience with AWS Services (Step Functions, Lambda, EC2, DesirableEMR)
* 2-5 years of experience with Deployment Pipelines
* 2-5 years of Troubleshooting and Debugging experience
* In-depth knowledge of & experience deploying and operating AWS cloud based services - EC2 , StepFunctions, Lambda, ECS and EMR
* Relentless passion for frugality and out-of-the-box engineering
* Strong system troubleshooting skills
* Proficiency and experience in automation via Perl/Python programming and shell scripting
* Demonstrable grasp of security best practices in server configuration, tool development, and access controls
* Experience with Neo4J is highly desirable
* Knowledge of AWS CDK, DevOps, Monitoring tools and scripting, Python, Scala and Java (all highly desired)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
