Job Details

Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Test Equipment Systems Engineer to support the National Airspace System (NAS) Second Level Engineering group. This role is ideal for a skilled, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in program management. You'll play a critical part in planning, directing, and coordinating activities to guide projects from initiation to operational delivery.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist the FAA in determining, monitoring, and reviewing all project economics, including costs, budgets, staffing, resources, and risks.
  • Lead project teams in translating client requirements into actionable operational plans.
  • Identify and assemble the right mix of resources to meet project needs.
  • Coordinate with matrixed staff to secure resources, schedule work, monitor progress, and report outcomes.
  • Facilitate regular status review meetings with project team members and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure adherence to project schedules and deliverables.
  • Coach and mentor team members to ensure goals are achieved within timelines.
  • Resolve technical or operational issues while ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
  • Support scope management and change control processes.
  • Track and deliver key performance metrics, analyze progress/costs, and recommend alternatives as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as tasks arise.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience. (Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
  • Prior experience as a Systems Engineer.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • FAA experience is highly desirable.

This position will allow for 50% telework.

At Leidos, we don't want someone who "fits the mold"-we want someone who melts it down and builds something better. This is a role for the restless, the over-caffeinated, the ones who ask, "what's next?" before the dust settles on "what's now."

If you're already scheming step 20 while everyone else is still debating step 2... good. You'll fit right in.
