Overview
A large healthcare organization is implementing a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to enhance its patient-focused capabilities. This initiative involves replacing a legacy application that supported patient care, scheduling, billing, and related processes. To ensure a successful transition, the organization seeks a dedicated Software QA Tester to support quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough testing of the Cerner Millennium EHR toolset to validate that the system meets functional and technical requirements.
- Review and validate user stories to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business needs.
- Execute test cases, scripts, and scenarios to validate system functionality, performance, and data integrity.
- Identify, document, and track defects/issues in a structured manner; collaborate with developers and analysts to resolve them.
- Support ongoing validation of system changes during configuration, integration, and deployment phases.
- Coordinate testing activities across multiple functional workgroups (patient care, scheduling, billing, etc.).
- Provide clear and concise status updates, test results, and quality metrics to project stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of test plans, test strategies, and quality standards tailored to the EHR implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Software QA Tester, preferably in healthcare or EHR environments.
- Hands-on experience with Cerner Millennium or similar EHR platforms.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test processes, and defect management tools.
- Ability to interpret and validate user stories and business requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Familiarity with healthcare workflows such as patient care, scheduling, and billing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale system implementations in healthcare organizations.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards relevant to healthcare IT systems.
- ISTQB or other QA certification is a plus.
