Position Summary
The A/V & Event Specialist will support audio-visual (AV) technology systems, hardware, and software across an enterprise environment. This role requires delivering both in-person and remote technical support, as well as assisting with asset tracking, installation, configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting of IT resources. The specialist must provide exceptional service, maintain clear communication, and ensure follow-through on all support needs.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and assist with audio-visual installations, setups, and video conferencing support.
Provide technical expertise in virtual meeting applications (MS Teams, Zoom, GoTo, etc.).
Support and maintain AV equipment (Microsoft Teams Rooms certified devices).
Monitor and manage collaboration systems using MS Teams Admin Center and vendor monitoring portals.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues; recommend repair or replacement strategies.
Propose and implement strategies to improve utilization of collaboration spaces.
Train end users and technical staff on AV equipment and software.
Collaborate with IT teams on enterprise-wide projects and initiatives.
Maintain proficiency in Office 365 tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams) and Windows 10/11.
Provide event support, including after-hours availability and travel.
Travel up to 50% to remote sites for support and event coordination.
Perform other assigned duties.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Enterprise IT support experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications or training in AV/IT is a plus).
Strong ability to learn new systems and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Experience commissioning AV systems, preferably in enterprise or integrator settings.
Proficiency in control systems (Crestron, Q-SYS) and DSP configuration software.
Knowledge of AV signal flow, AV over IP, structured cabling standards, and rack build best practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and customer service skills.
Additional Information
Standard onsite hours: 7:00 am 6:00 pm (Monday Friday).
Must be available for after-hours event support.
Contractor must be reachable for incident response and provided with a smartphone (with data services) that complies with FDOT security requirements. The device must support manufacturer/carrier security updates.
Contractor will utilize mobile applications (Outlook, Teams, ServiceNow) that must remain updated.
