Description: Our client is currently seeking a Backend Software Developer.

Locations: Austin, TX | Richfield, OH | Southlake, TX (Hybrid: On-site Mon, Wed, Thu)

6 month W2 contract - No sponsorship available - Possible Temp-to-Perm!
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer with experience in .NET technologies to join our team. This role focuses on backend development, SOAP-based services, and batch processing in a hybrid cloud environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions in an agile setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using .NET Framework and C#.
  • Build and support SOAP-based WCF services and legacy service integrations.
  • Develop and maintain backend batch jobs and service orchestration.
  • Collaborate with product owners to define and decompose requirements into actionable tasks.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and delivery.
  • Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Support integration of subsystems and troubleshoot complex production issues.
  • Identify automation opportunities in manual processing workflows.
  • Contribute to cloud migration and modernization efforts (PCF/Cloud experience a plus).
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in backend development using C#, .NET, .NET Core, ASP.NET, and MVC.
  • Experience with WCF and SOAP-based web services in transactional environments.
  • Proficiency in SQL (stored procedures, CRUD operations, indexing).
  • Experience with XML, XSLT, and data transformation.
  • Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (e.g., NUnit, MSTest).
  • Agile development experience as part of a Scrum team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in both production and non-production environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with legacy systems requiring high availability and low latency.
  • Financial services or retirement plan domain knowledge.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), containers, or similar.
  • Exposure to test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, LoadRunner).
