Description:

  • The client is seeking Java Mid-Level Technical Specialist on the client Traffic Records Systems (TRS). TRS supports the client Crash Data Management and client Traffic Safety in collecting, analysis, and distribution of motor vehicle accident information. The chosen candidate will be part of the application maintenance team serving as the technical specialist and consultant by independently managing complex Java projects and providing critical second level 24x7 on-call support.
  • The contractor will work with Business Owners in the translation of customer requests into technical request and user stories, coordinates software release schedules with the Business and Technical Team, develops business requirements, and provides testing and training support. This individual must have proven experience with enterprise level software development programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Math or Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Experience programming in Java/JEE, Oracle, and XML for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Experience with Web Services, JSP, Servlets, Spring, Struts, Eclipse IDE, and version control tools for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Demonstrated ability in application analysis and design, cost analysis, estimating staffing needs, testing, documentation, and implementation for a minimum of 3 years
  • Experience providing technical helpdesk support for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Demonstrate these Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Visual C++, .NET, CORBA, EJB, and Hibernate. Java Certification.
  • Demonstrate effective communications in oral and written form. Proficiency in basic computer
  • applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.

  • The candidate will be allowed to work remotely until all staff return to site. At that point the candidate will be required to come onsite.
