Lead .Net Developer
Madison, WI - Hybrid - Only Locals

This is a Hybrid Position - NO REMOTE Position available.
We are currently hiring candidates who are authorized to work on our W2.
Candidate with previous state/govt client experience is preferred.
Note: Candidates must be CURRENT WI residents. No relocation allowed.
must attend all scheduled meetings during DWD standard working hours of 7.45 am 4.30 pm Central Time.

Top Required Skills & Years of Experience:
- Experience as a lead developer in a large application development project, preferably involving modernization of technology, as well as working with a cross-functional team to redesign and simplify UX and workflows to meet modern application design standards, using a material design library and component framework, such as MudBlazor - at least 2 years experience
- Candidate must be a .NET expert with extensive experience using ASP.NET Core v6-8 - at least 2 years experience
- Experience in Azure SQL cloud database solution - at least 1 year experience
- Experience with GitHub distributed version control and using GitHub actions to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines - at least 1 year experience
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment
- Experience using Linq or Entity Framework
- Previous experience providing this service for government a plus, and experience with DWD's environments will be especially valuable
This is a technical position needed to drive the development and support of the Vocational Information System for Tracking Advancement (VISTA) modernization project, a full replacement of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation's case management system. Candidates will play an integral role on self directed project teams working on this high priority development project.
Project work will include: application design and development, integration with 3rd party internal and external systems, database technology migration from Oracle to Azure SQL and data conversion, building and maintaing cloud computing environments, and analysis of legacy code and logical requirements. Advising on and executing documentation, unit testing, and cross testing best practices.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated success in designing, creating, and maintaining web services, system integrations, web development, and highly complex online transaction processing (OLTP).
