Job Description
Minimum Requirements:
8+ years in software product development, digital design, UX/UI, or related field.
8+ years designing mockups and wireframes aligned with UX best practices.
8+ years conducting user and usability research.
5+ years strong writing and organizational skills.
5+ years strong communication and facilitation skills.
4+ years leading large-scale UX/UI initiatives.
4+ years experience with Figma or comparable design software.
3+ years ensuring accessibility compliance in design.
1+ year portfolio demonstrating user research, visual design, and usability studies.

Preferred Experience:
3+ years experience with Atlassian Jira.
2+ years experience working with TEA or another state/local education agency.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a senior UX Designer to lead user-centered design efforts across its applications and websites.
This role is critical in shaping technology solutions that empower parents, teachers, schools, and district leaders to focus on student success.
The UX Designer will work with minimal supervision and exercise strong independent judgment, ensuring that all design decisions are grounded in user experience research and aligned with agency and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
Lead UX/UI design efforts to ensure alignment with agency-wide standards and best practices.
Translate user research into user stories, requirements, workflows, wireframes, and prototypes.
Conduct user testing and outreach to validate design decisions and ensure usability.
Collaborate with product teams, senior leadership, and external partners on design solutions.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and other designers.
Maintain a user-centric focus throughout the product development lifecycle.
Ensure designs and websites meet federal accessibility guidelines.
