Job Description:
Apex Systems is looking to hire multiple Security Technicians to swap out old security equipment with new equipment. A qualified candidate would have experience installing CCTVs, access control systems and working with cables. Position: Security Technician
Contract Rate: Negotiable
Length: 10 weeks w/ potential for additional work afterwards
Location: Miami International Airport (on cargo side)
Shift: M-F, 7am-5pm (potential weekend work)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Security Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and structured cabling. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in low-voltage systems and a strong understanding of security technology.
Must Have Experience:
- Cabling - Pulling & supporting cables from doors/devices to designated locations, terminating & testing CAT 6 cables
- CCTV Connection
- Access Control
- Following drawings of install plans
Nice to Haves (but not required):
- Conduit experience - Stubbing up & stubbing down
- BICSI Certification

Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain CCTV surveillance systems, ensuring proper connectivity and functionality.
- Set up and troubleshoot access control systems, including keycard readers, biometric scanners, and electronic locks.
- Perform cabling installations, including running, terminating, and testing low-voltage wiring for security systems.
- Install intrusion detection systems, ensuring proper alarm functionality and response protocols.
- Conduct system inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to security equipment and network connectivity.
- Collaborate with clients and team members to design and implement security solutions tailored to specific needs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, repairs, and system configurations.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years in security system installation and maintenance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and structured cabling.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications are a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift equipment, work in various environments, and perform hands-on installations.
