Computershare has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Global Data Centre Operations Team Lead to join our Computershare Technology Services (CTS) team.

A role you will love

As the Global Data Centre Operations Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations, maintenance and strategic planning of the organization's global data centres. This includes managing multiple data centres across the world ensuring uptime, performance, security, compliance, health monitoring and capacity planning. Your team is responsible for providing data centre services to CTS support teams and clients, as well as enhancing customer experience through investigating and resolving system faults, providing reliable data centre services, enabling our customers to run their operations effectively.

To be successful in this role, you will require strong skills in leadership, operational excellence, governance, and vendor management with the ability to manage a team of data centre engineers who are geographically dispersed. You will work very closely with the business to align the technology data centre strategy to the business' objectives. This involves providing proposals, guidance for business projects and direct interaction with key internal stakeholder on the Computershare data centre solutions. We are looking for you to build great relationships within the team, and to support your team's career development. You will hold engaging and relevant 1:1s with your team to discuss career goals, training needs and provide support with what they need.

Other key responsibilities include:
  • People management and leadership including hiring, performance management, reporting, and resource capacity management
  • Creating a high performing team by coaching, motivating, and supporting the people you lead
  • Identifying and supporting talent while ensuring succession for critical roles
  • Supporting IT assurance and compliance processes while effectively managing risk
  • Overseeing the maintenance and health of the organization's data centres globally
  • Ensuring all the ServiceNow queues and ADO tasks are monitored globally, and tickets and tasks are promptly worked following agreed priorities
  • Incident response and service requests fulfilment
  • Building proactive and constructive professional relationships with other teams and departments globally
  • Clearly translating complex business and technical problems to stakeholders
  • Establishing strong working relationships with market stakeholders, vendors, and regional directors

What will you bring to the role?
  • 5+ years' experience managing data centre environments
  • Deep knowledge of data centre technologies (power, cooling, networking, computing)
  • Experience in a Leadership role with significant experience of managing teams that are dispersed geographic
  • Demonstrable experience of embedding organization changes and cultural changes within a complex operational environment
  • Proven ability to influence at peer level and above to drive through change and alignment to process with all other areas of Technology Services, often at a global level
  • Experience managing teams who need to collaborate across multiple sites
  • Experience with Managed Services agreements and operating with service providers
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to keep the team updated on strategic initiatives by means of written updates, stand up Town Halls and presentations
  • Knowledge of service governance processes and the ability to understand risk to services
  • Ability to coach and mentor direct reports and instill strategic objectives and direction
  • Business Planning experience and the ability to forecast cost for budget cycles.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including data centre services, servers, networks, storage, and cloud services
  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role, with expertise managing complex enterprise level infrastructure solutions

Bonus points if you have:
  • A bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP)
  • Experience working in a global data centre leadership role
  • Previous exposure to sustainability and green IT initiatives

Compensation. The typical base pay range for this role is $102,000 - $152,000 per year USD.
