Job Title: Solution Architect / Technical Lead
Duration: 06 Months
Client: Virginia Information Technology Agency
Location: Richmond, VA
Notes: This is a hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design the overall architecture of the Azure-hosted OCR solution, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
- Define and document system components, APIs, and data flow architecture to support OCR processing and downstream systems.
- Lead technical decisions around solution architecture, integration patterns, and technology stack.
- Oversee implementation teams to ensure architectural best practices are followed.
- Ensure that the solution adheres to all relevant compliance requirements, including SEC530 and FedRAMP.
- Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and developers to translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Identify and mitigate risks in architecture and suggest performance optimization strategies.
- Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies for solution performance and security.
- Provide mentorship to developers and act as a technical advisor for cross-functional teams.
- Participate in code and design reviews, ensuring high code quality and system maintainability.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software architecture, solution design, and technical leadership.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure platform services.
- Proven experience in architecting OCR-based solutions or document processing workflows.
- Strong understanding of API design (REST, GraphQL), microservices, and data transformation flows.
- Expertise in Azure services including Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Key Vault, Azure App Services, Azure AD, and Azure Monitor.
- Deep knowledge of security standards and compliance frameworks, especially SEC530, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53.
- Experience with DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), infrastructure-as-code (ARM/Bicep/Terraform), and CI/CD practices.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AI/ML OCR engines such as Azure Computer Vision, Tesseract, Abbyy, or Google Vision API.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent certification.
- Experience working in a government or public sector environment.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
