Title: Sr. Business Systems Analyst "Business Data Analyst"
Location: Tukwila, WA 100% Remote
Duration: 10 - 12 months + (Potential to extend)
Job Description:
We are looking for Business Systems Analyst/ Business Data Analyst with at least 7+ years of experience and strong experience with Finance/ Banking domain. This resource needs to have strong data focused project experience specifically with Snowflake.
Top Desired Skills:
1) Snowflake knowledge - direct experience with Snowflake environment; basic level of understanding how Snowflake works, how data ingesting works;
2) Data Warehousing - strong understanding of how data ingesting works; navigate data sourcing; experience in Source to Target Mapping and creating documents; Resolve data quality issues (eg. data duplication, data validation)
3) Understanding SQL
4) Strong communication and business acumen; will be interacting with business teams
Desired Experience/ Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, IT, Business or equivalent work/educational experience.
o Minimum seven years of related experience in data management solutions.
o Advanced proficiency in Business Intelligence as both Power User and Data Consumer.
o Proven experience bridging strategic and operational needs with technical solutions.
o Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
o Expertise in Data and BI architecture, design and tools such as Alteryx, Snowflake, Informatica, Power BI & SQL Server Management Studio
o Working knowledge of Cloud Computing and associated practices.
o Familiarity with Azure, DataOps, and agile tools like Azure DevOps (ADO).
o Knowledge of Python, Snowflake, Databricks, ErWin, Alteryx, IDMC or other data quality & governance tools.
o Deep understanding of data engineering terminology and architecture.
Lead the Way:
Facilitate sessions with product owners, business partners, and tech teams to translate big ideas into clearly documented data and BI requirements.
Job Duties/ What you will do:
o Source & Shape Data: Manage data sourcing, conduct gap analyses, and document metadata and business rules in alignment with data governance principles.
o Build Smarter Tools: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Architecture to bring data and BI solutions to life-from ideation to dashboards-especially on high-impact, complex initiatives.
o Dig Deep Into Data: Conduct exploratory analysis, generate working hypotheses, and identify meaningful patterns in both raw and curated data.
o Solve Real Problems: Tackle tough data challenges with creativity-dig into the root causes, propose smarter metrics, and share learnings across the data community.
o Ensure Data Quality: Create and execute test plans, write validation scripts, and ensure data reliability across BI, regulatory, and analytics solutions.
o Standardize & Educate: Develop and share policies, standards, and training materials to promote smarter and more efficient use of BI tools and data.
o Be the Data Translator: Produce technical documentation, offer training by persona, and empower stakeholders to confidently consume data.
o Prioritize Privacy & Compliance: Integrate cybersecurity, data privacy and regulatory requirements into data designs and product strategy.
o Collaborate & Demo: Lead walkthroughs and demos to showcase new data and BI features to development and business partners.
o Mentor Others: Support and guide team members on systems, tools, and strategies to raise the bar for data fluency, adoption and governance.
