We're seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Technology Relationship Manager to join our Engineering team. This role is located in New York City.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Liaise between IT and multiple business units to support complex technology needs.
  • Lead and provide technical and innovative direction for IT contracting processes across the enterprise.
  • Develop strategic client relationships to ensure satisfaction with IT changes and efficient business system development.
  • Represent user areas in complex system enhancements and design activities to align IT changes with business needs.
  • Understand BNY spend, client opportunity, innovation potential, and business criticality to prioritize engineering partner engagement and allocate executive relationship management effectively.
  • Develop and sustain deep, strategic relationships with key third-party engineering partners aligned with BNY Mellon's goals.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Sourcing Office (ESO) and engineering stakeholders to drive partner performance improvements and maximize commercial value.
  • Lead negotiation, extension, termination, and renegotiation of major contracts for equipment, technology, and services acquisition.
  • Identify and pursue co-innovation opportunities that enhance engineering capabilities and competitive advantage.
  • Establish strategic engagement cadence for core partners with appropriate executive sponsorship aligned with operational performance management.
  • Facilitate communication between partners and internal teams to build understanding of available technology, resolve issues, and promote collaboration.
  • Stay informed on market trends, partner capabilities, and emerging technologies relevant to engineering needs, including partnering with SPIN to monitor startups.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree is beneficial.
  • 12+ years of related experience, including partner relationship management within engineering or technology sectors.
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive value through technology partnerships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyze market, internal performance, and competitor data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Experience fostering innovation and co-development initiatives with external partners.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across diverse teams and functions.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $127,000 and $230,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
