Title: IT Support Specialist
Location : Westlake, Ohio
Target Start Date : 8/4
Type: (C, CTH, D): CTH
Pay Rate / Salary (Ranges OK) : $25/hr

We are looking for a reliable and tech-savvy IT Support Specialist to join our team and provide hands-on and remote support for users across multiple Northeast Ohio locations. This position is based onsite in Westlake, Ohio, with occasional travel to other local sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for end-user technical support needs, both onsite and remotely.
  • Own and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues; prioritize and escalate when necessary.
  • Set up and maintain user devices including PCs, iPads, and Chromebooks.
  • Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts across Active Directory, Office 365, and other internal platforms.
  • Administer Office 365 tools and manage user access and security settings.
  • Configure and support Chrome OS devices; provide guidance on using Google Classroom and related tools.
  • Upgrade and install PC components and peripherals (e.g., printers, projectors, network devices).
  • Support VPN connectivity and two-factor authentication (DUO) for remote users.
  • Monitor system performance and endpoint security tools.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and inventory of devices and software.
  • Deliver end-user training and support for various software platforms.
  • Translate technical information clearly for non-technical staff and users.
  • Stay updated on IT trends and best practices; participate in trainings and workshops.
  • Complete special projects and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED (Associate degree in IT or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute).
  • Experience with Windows operating systems, Office 365, Chromebooks, iPads, and general desktop support.
  • Familiarity with Help Desk ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk).
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Valid driver's license, personal auto insurance, and acceptable driving record for occasional site visits.

Preferred:
  • Experience providing end-user training and creating support documentation.
  • Comfort with configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting a range of hardware and software platforms.
