Lead Software Engineer

Start: September 2025

Duration: 12+ months (with possible Extension)

Location: REMOTE

Responsibilities:

  • Overall development life cycle of the solution and manage complex projects
  • Leading the development team in the design, development, coding, testing, deployment, and debugging of applications
  • Work with product managers in developing a strategy and road map to provide compelling capabilities for them that helps them succeed in their business goals.
  • Work closely with other lead engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development
  • Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules
  • Project management prioritization, planning of projects and features, stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
  • Operational Excellence build, deploy, monitor, and operation of production services
  • Mentoring, career management and development of dotted line reports within the teams aligned to you
  • Champion quality best practices and Test-Driven Development
  • Lead adoption of Agile best practices
  • Incident response assist with troubleshooting and determining solutions for issues identified in war rooms

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in full lifecycle of software development projects in an agile environment including Doman Driven Design and Event Driven Architecture
  • 4+ years of experience working with and/or responding to critical incidents
  • 4+ years of experience with building web applications and RESTful web services
  • 4+ years of experience working with MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or other similar relational database management system
  • 2+ years of experience working with .NET Core or similar object oriented programming language
  • 2+ years of experience with Angular, React, or other JavaScript frameworks/ libraries
  • 1+ years of experience with application containerization, deployment, and orchestration across environments along with CI/CD and test automation
  • 1+ years of experience building cloud-native applications in Azure or similar cloud service provider
  • 1+ years of experience with networking and internet protocols
  • 1+ years of experience troubleshooting applications running within Kubernetes
  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain favourable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense eQuip Form SF86 (PDF)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a suitability or determination of eligibility for a Confidential/Secret or Top Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience working with cloud infrastructure (IaC) and automated provisioning and configuration management
  • 1+ years of experience with Encryption, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), understanding of OWASP
  • 1+ years of experience with SOLID architectural principles and domain-driven design
  • 1+ years of experience with microservices architecture
