Our Dallas based client is in search of a Senior Systems Engineer, responsible for strategically leading the definition, implementation, and maintenance of best practices and robust strategies across their critical AWS and Microsoft 365 environments, encompassing security, compliance, user support, and ServiceNow integration. This role involves proactive problem management, root cause analysis, and the implementation of preventative measures to ensure the highest levels of reliability, security, and performance. The Senior System Engineer will drive continuous improvement initiatives, provide expert-level support and guidance, and educate technical teams on new cloud-based strategies and technologies. This position demands exceptional problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills to optimize our cloud infrastructure, identity management systems, and service management platform, directly impacting business productivity and efficiency.

- Define, document, and teach best practices and strategies regarding AWS infrastructure maintenance, server and cloud environments.
- Recommend improvements, administers, and maintains Microsoft 365 services (user management, licensing, security, core applications).
- Manages security and compliance within the M365 environment (policies, threat monitoring, DLP).
- Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves technical issues related to Microsoft 365 services.
- Plans, implements, and migrates to new M365 features and services.
- Creates documentation, provides training, and drives continuous improvement of the M365 environment.
- Improves and manages endpoint security and configuration via Microsoft Intune (enrollment, compliance, app deployment).
- Implements and manages MDM/MAM policies for secure mobile device and application access.
- Manages and maintains the Okta identity and access management platform (user provisioning, SSO, MFA, security policies).
- Manage and improve cloud environment in accordance with company security guidelines
- Assist network team with administration of Meraki network infrastructure
- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
- Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary
- Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues to minimize effect on business productivity
- Asset management best practices
- Occasional travel may be necessary
- Provides expert direction for the use and configuration of our tools
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Five or more years of experience administering Office 365, Windows Server (2016, 2022, 2025), Group Policy, and Active Directory
- Five or more years of experience with patching/deployment
- Five or more years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms
- Knowledge of web service APIs; REST, SOAP, and RPC or similar
- Requires excellent people skills
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Expert knowledge of M365, Microsoft operating systems, AWS, networking equipment, firewalls, virtual private networks, and wireless access points
- Expert knowledge of networking technologies and Meraki administration
- Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting networks, integrated systems, and desktop hardware
- Understanding of web-related terminologies and software such as web applications, web related protocols, service-oriented architectures, and web services(IIS).
- Cloudflare DNS management
- Knowledge of computer forensic tools, data loss prevention methods, and disaster recovery methods is a plus
- General experience with MSSQL database administration
- Experience with ServiceNow or another similar tool a plus
- AWS, AZ Foundational+, MS Foundational+ certifications, Google Cloud Platform certification
- Network+, CCNA, or other networking certs a plus
- CySA, Security+ or other cyber security certs a plus
