Job Title: Linux/Windows System Administrator VMware Environment- ONLY LOCALS
Location: Raleigh, NC
Interview Type: Either Webcam Interview or In Person
**This is not a remote position; the candidate will be based in Raleigh NC and will be asked to travel to Charlotte data center for any hardware issues.**
Must have a valid drivers license. Do you accept this requirement?
Onsite work will be expected every other week. Do you accept this requirement?
This position is onsite and the candidate will be ask to travel at any given time to Raleigh and Charlotte data centers for a new hardware installation or troubleshooting. Do you confirm?
Description:
NC FAST is looking for a Senior System Administrator to work in Durham, NC. The resource will be responsible as the technical Linux/Windows Admin and maintain UCS servers in a VMware environment.
The NC Department of Health and Human Services seeks a contract resource to assist with the support of the NC FAST Application Development Environment for NC Families Accessing Services through Technology (NC FAST). The resource will act as the technical Linux/Windows Admin and maintain UCS servers in a VMware environment and requires the ability to work on a fast spaced environment and support and resolve incident tickets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, maintain, and upgrade internal computer software systems used for designing and developing company products.
- Control user access and passwords
- Propose and implement systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
- Monitor usage and performance
- Train personnel on system usage
- Maintain the VMware-based environments Monitor the virtual server infrastructure environment's health status.
- Be willing to travel at any time to troubleshoot any hardware issues in our data centers in Raleigh and Charlotte area.
- Research, evaluate and recommend software and hardware products.
- Provide new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth.
- Work as a team member in a fast-paced environment 24/7, 7 days a week.
- On-call support every other week and occasional weekend/holiday work required
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8 years experience as a System Administrator
- Experience in Managing VMware VCenter 6.7 or later.
- Experience in managing Nagios.
- Hands-on support of the UNIX /Windows environment including OS administration and systems support.
- Experience interacting with Security, Audit, DBA, Networking, Microsoft, and development groups.
- Experience with customer support in a time-critical environment
- Analytical and methodical approach to problem solving.
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
? Manage and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux on x86.
? Manage and maintain Windows servers.
? Manage and maintain SQL servers.
? Manage and maintain Storage such as Pure storage and VSAN.
? Demonstrated knowledge of Red Hat Linux on x86 platforms.
? Strong shell scripting abilities
? Ability to implement Processes and Procedures creating controls and standardization across large regions.
? Business aware and focused on service delivery.
? Standard office automation products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
