Senior Network Engineer (Palo Alto)
Location: Hybrid, need to be available to come to the Denver office when needed
Full-Time | Direct Hire
$140,000 $155,000 base + 10% annual bonus
On-call Rotation: 1 week every 6 7 weeks (low volume)

The Opportunity
We are engaged in a search for a Senior Network Engineer to join a high-performing infrastructure team within a security-critical, enterprise-scale environment. This is a strategic backfill for a former lead who was promoted into management. The team is seeking a confident, technically sharp engineer who can influence architecture, lead design initiatives, and elevate team performance.
This is not a maintenance role it s a chance to lead architectural projects that could involve cloud transformation and zero-trust security initiatives. Our client is looking to move more to the cloud in 2026.
What You ll Do
- Serve as one of the technical leads for a team of engineers and admins during a critical transformation period.
- Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, support, design, and maintenance of network and security systems, hardware, software, and related infrastructure.
- Install new / rebuild existing switches, routers, firewalls, monitoring systems, management platforms, and configure hardware, network modules, services, settings, policies, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
- Provide Tier III/other network support for corporate, data center, and property network issues per request from various constituencies.
- Install and use software/hardware, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information by working directly with the security and infrastructure teams.
- Assist with Architecture and design solutions for:
- Palo Alto environment
- Data center modernization
- Guide routing/switching strategies across 455 switches and 5,000 8,000 endpoints.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to align on strategy.
- Participate in whiteboarding and strategic design conversations not just operational tasks.
Technical Environment
- Routing/Switching: Core L3 skills required; Arista (VXLAN, CloudVision) strongly preferred.
- Firewalls/Security: Palo Alto expertise essential (250+ devices in use).
- Wireless: Ruckus APs at scale (30 40,000 APs), including controller-based management.
- Cloud: Azure (limited now, expanding in 2025); hybrid cloud networking experience a plus.
- Automation/Scripting: Python, Ansible, PowerShell, or similar tools are a bonus.

- Senior-level experience in enterprise networking across multi-site environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead discussions and mentor others.
- Experience in high-consequence environments where uptime directly impacts revenue.

- Team includes one other senior engineer, two junior engineers, and two admins.

Interview Process
