Description
We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems to ensure seamless communication and operations within the organization. This Contract position offers the potential for long-term collaboration with a non-profit organization committed to excellence.
Responsibilities:
Design, install, and manage local and wide area networks to support organizational communication needs.
Configure and maintain network systems, including routers, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot hardware and software issues to ensure optimal operation.
Implement security measures to protect data and systems from unauthorized access or threats.
Provide project management support for network-related initiatives, including planning, tracking, and reporting progress.
Optimize network traffic and load balancing to enhance system efficiency.
Collaborate with management to establish risk levels and network security policies.
Maintain documentation of network processes, configurations, and updates.
Coordinate installation and maintenance of communication circuits and infrastructure cabling.
Offer technical support for end users and ensure smooth operation of network-dependent applications.
Requirements
Proficiency in working with Cisco networking systems, including routers and wireless solutions.
Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Cisco ASA for network security.
Strong understanding of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and IP networking concepts.
Knowledge of telephony systems, including VoIP technologies.
Ability to manage load balancing and traffic optimization in enterprise environments.
Familiarity with network performance monitoring tools and methodologies.
Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving network access and connectivity issues.
Solid project management skills with the ability to plan and execute network initiatives.
