Job Title: EOL Network Specialist (Hybrid - NYC)
Location: Hybrid – 3 days in office / 2 days remote (Data centers and various agency locations across the five boroughs of NYC)
Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 35 hours per week (normal business hours)
Duration: 1 Year

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced EOL Network Specialist to support the implementation of advanced network technologies for major IT infrastructure projects. The specialist will assist with architecture design planning and the deployment of routing, switching, and data center technologies across multiple locations. This role requires extensive hands-on experience with enterprise-level networking and migration efforts within large-scale environments.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare designs to guide data center operations and field technicians on racking and installing new network equipment.
  • Plan and execute migration strategies, including parallel builds and hot-cuts.
  • Set up devices in monitoring and management tools such as Science Logic, Ciena AIPA, NetScout Infinistream, and CRC Dashboard.
  • Configure, validate, and deploy new devices according to technical specifications.
  • Provide network updates and documentation to stakeholders.
  • Manage IP address allocations within the IP Management Portal.
  • Connect end users and systems to new devices and network infrastructure.


Mandatory Qualifications
  • At least 12 years of professional networking experience.
  • Hands-on expertise with BGP, MPLS, and OSPF routing protocols in large-scale environments.
  • Availability to work on a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).
  • 12+ years of experience installing and maintaining Cisco network equipment in ring configurations interconnected over dark fiber.
  • Expertise in deploying Cisco NCS routers and working with IOS-XR software, including understanding line cards, power supplies, and feature sets.
  • Solid background in MPLS, EIGRP, OSPF, iBGP, eBGP, and IS-IS routing protocols.
  • Experience configuring CORE/PE and CPE routers and switches for mid-to-large enterprises or service providers.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise QoS design and implementation, including queueing for Cisco NCS products.
  • Experience deploying network management protocols such as SNMPv3, Syslog, and NetFlow.
  • Proficiency in network architecture design using tools like Microsoft Visio.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse functional teams and maintain a customer-focused approach.
  • Familiarity with large-scale city or municipal network environments is a plus.


Additional Requirements
  • Onsite presence at data centers or field locations across NYC may be required, including possible attendance during maintenance windows.
  • Travel is limited to the five boroughs of New York City.
