Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Project Portfolio Governance and Process Excellence Lead to oversee governance, compliance, and continuous improvement across our project management community. This role will be instrumental in defining and enforcing standardized processes, guiding portfolio intake and approvals, and driving operational efficiencies through process optimization and agile practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Governance and Compliance:
Oversee process governance and ensure adherence to enterprise-wide SDLC standards across all portfolios. Drive consistent application of project workflows, reviews, and approval gates. - Process Documentation and Enablement:
Develop and maintain standardized process documentation, templates, and a centralized PMO learning site to support knowledge sharing and reduce redundancy. - Training and Best Practices Implementation:
Provide hands-on training and mentorship to the PM community, promoting best practices in project delivery, process compliance, and lifecycle management. - Portfolio Management Support:
Manage project intake processes, assess readiness for funding approvals, and coordinate portfolio-wide status reporting and compliance tracking. - Process Automation and Efficiency:
Lead or support the implementation of process automation tools to reduce administrative overhead-delivering measurable time savings during the project lifecycle. - Agile Coaching and Adoption:
Leverage Scrum Lead and Product Owner experience to support delivery teams in adopting and sustaining agile practices within a hybrid or scaled enterprise environment.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in project or portfolio governance, PMO, or process excellence roles
- Strong knowledge of SDLC and enterprise portfolio management
- Experience with agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, SAFe)
- Scrum Master or Product Owner certification preferred
- Demonstrated success in process automation, tool enablement, and PM enablement initiatives
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills
- Proficiency with portfolio/project management tools (e.g., Clarity, Jira, Confluence, MS Project)
