Java Production Support Engineer

Job Description

• Experience in Java development of 6-8 years in design, development, and support
• Five years of progressive experience developing software applications and/or solutions.
• Strong Experience with Java 8/J2EE and the Spring framework.
• Strong AWS experience with a background in API Gateway, Microservices, and serverless development
• Experience with the core AWS services like Lambdas, AWS Step Function, S3, SQS, SNS, EC2, Code Pipeline, DynamoDB, RDS, Event Bridge
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and virtual networks from a cloud point of view; apply best practices regarding security and scalability
• Effective oral and written communication skills are required.
• Three years of experience with SQL queries and database operations.
• Two years with Java or another high-level computer programming language.
• Computer application skills, such as MS Office or G-Suite.
• Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical data at the level needed to perform the required duties.
• Experience with Elastic Search or NoSQL queries is desirable.
• Technical customer support experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Support ongoing Tier four(engineering) support and diagnostic activities as mentioned in the Summary Description.
• Develop automation scripts in SQL (Oracle & MS SQL Server), and UNIX shell scripting to resolve software issues reported by IoT devices in production.
• Writing Queries in Elastic Search to visualize the data for support activities.
• Perform Splunk queries and automation to monitor the device logs and raise alerts when required.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of IoT device logs, identify gaps and issues, and make recommendations, including discovering new approaches.
• Assist engineering and individual engineers with data collection activities.
• Write and execute SQL queries for reporting and research purposes.
• Using tools like MARS, MTAS, RTT, Handset Analyzer, Iris, TrueCall, ACSS, and others, to identify device connectivity issues, to monitor network logs, and to proactively fix device-related issues.
• Reducing the redundancy of report requests from business users by creating daily, weekly, and monthly reports using SQL Queries.
• Developing utilities, test tools, and product features under the supervision of other developers.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's or Master s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
