Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategy, creation, and governance of website content to ensure clarity, accessibility, and alignment with OOD s communications goals.
  • Serve as the primary author and editor within the IOP WCM/HCL platform, managing updates, new content creation, and structural changes.
  • Collaborate with communications, program, and IT staff to gather content requirements and ensure timely updates.
  • Ensure all content meets State of Ohio digital accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1 compliance).
  • Monitor website analytics and user feedback to inform content improvements and optimize user experience.
  • Manage the web content lifecycle, including regular audits and archiving.
  • Resource communications and program staff on content best practices and platform use.
  • Coordinate with InnovateOhio Platform support teams for technical enhancements and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in Web/Digital Media or Design, Internet/Information Design, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience managing website content, preferably in the public sector or a regulated environment.
  • Proficiency with HCL Web Content Manager (WCM) or experience working within the InnovateOhio Platform.
  • Proficiency with the Cloudinary Digital Asset Manager (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of web accessibility standards and user-centered design principles.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools (e.g., Piwik PRO) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with content strategy and governance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Ohio state government digital policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS basics and SEO best practices.
